UNHINGED - VAN FRINGE 2018

Unhinged was a crazed comedic rant, with the idea that the rant comes from a lunatic jester. I could see the intent but I did not understand the storyline that Luke Purm was attempting to weave.

The jester is angry and with every reason. He plays with words as he hops from one topic to another bringing his audience along with him. Although angry, our lunatic jester is quite engaged with his audience and you never feel left out.

My favourite part was the math on dinosaurs and our oil supply. I am sure he added that up right.

If you are angry with the world as it is today and would like a dark and purposefully absurd telling of how a lunatic jester might explain our failings, then this show will get you all worked up.

Unhinged by Knight & Daïs Entertainment is playing at the Cultch Historic Theatre 6 - 16 September as part of the 2018 Vancouver Fringe Festival.

Hey, Theatre Addicts. Here I am, Melody, at The Cultch, and I'm going to see Unhinged. This is supposed to be a show about a lunatic jester. It's supposed to be funny, it's supposed to be naughty, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm expecting some good laughs. I'm expecting some risqué stuff going on. I'll catch you after the show.

Hey, it's Melody. I'm back, Theatre Addicts, and I'm now out of the show Unhinged just playing at The Cultch for Vancouver Fringe 2018. Well, if you like a comedic rant about everything that's wrong with the world today, this will be the show for you. There were quite a lot of like word plays. If you like word play, then, that's also something that you'll enjoy. For me, it was not my cup of tea. I saw the way that he was trying to go with it. I just, I didn't find it as funny as I was hoping for, and it also said it was naughty, and I thought maybe it would be a little bit more risqué, a little bit more play or ironic, but it wasn't. It was a bit more of a rant than it was ironic.

For me, it may have missed it on that point, but I mean the performer, yeah, he really connected with the audience. He really connected with every audience member, so kudos for that. That is hard. He gave it his all. He'd given us all, and if that's what you love, then you'll love this show. I'm Melody for Theatre Addicts. I just saw Unhinged at The Cultch for 2018 Vancouver Fringe. If you do go see it, please comment below. I would love to hear what you think of it. Hey, subscribe to our YouTube. All right, we'll talk to you later. Bye.
